Limited Edition Traditional Collectors Hand Made Artist Bear
Christopher’s Story
Christopher was hand made by me 'Paws & Claws' when I was a Bear Artist in the 1980's and 1990s. He was exhibited at Business & Design Centre in Islington, London in the 1990’s.
For the next 30 years he has lived with myself along with a hug of my bear creations in a non smoking home in Buckinghamshire. He has basically been an ornament over those years and not really cuddled or played with very much at all so despite his vintage 30 years he is in excellent condition and it’s now time to find him a new home and name if you prefer, he will tell you if he likes his new name as he has can growl.
Christopher is the last one remaining of this Limited Edition Bear No. 1 of 6 and is a fully jointed bear made from my own original pattern on 25th November 1993. He is 17 inches / 43cms inches standing and 12 inches / 30cm when sat down.
He is fully jointed and has a part pellet part Dacron filled body, the pellets being in his tummy area with his growler. His head is hard filled with Dacron along with his arms and legs but they are more softly filled. His fur is a synthetic woven type called Antelope which is double stitched, it’s a short pile with a soft feel.
Christopher has a brown hand embroidered nose and mouth, the tip is filled inside with wood wool (this makes embroidering noses easier for the needle to go through). His paws are made from 100% wood felt and have 5 brown claws on each paw that are also hand stitched. His label is sewn in the back seam which is bottle green with 'Paws & Claws Collector Bears' sewn on it in gold writing and a little bear.
Characteristics
When Christopher is sitting his head has a slight slump causing a couple of tummy rolls, his right foot turns in, the left points upwards. His left arm sits naturally between his legs.

Fabric - 5mm Synthetic Woven - Antelope colour
Pads Fabric - 100% wool felt in Mushroom
Nose - Embroidered with brown thread, the tip filled with wood wool.
Eyes - Glass 15.5 mm black
Growler - Plastic
Joints - 5 X Traditional Cotter pin 2 inch / 5 cms
Filling - Dacron & Plastic Pellets
Christopher is a Collectors Bear and unfortunately not suitable for children under the age of 14 years.
Delivery is at a reduced cost and he be nicely packed and sent tracked and signed for to ensure he arrives safely.
